The Bocalán Foundation
It is an internationally recognized organization in the field of Animal Assisted Interventions (AAI) and animal behavior, with over 25 years of experience. Pioneers in the introduction and development of assistance dogs in Spanish-speaking countries, we have also been world leaders in the incorporation of technicians specialized in animal-assisted interventions, granting this discipline the recognition, professional value, and therapeutic approach that distinguish it today.
Throughout our history, we have formed teams in more than 15 countries, including the United States, various Latin American countries, Japan, and Australia. Our greatest pride is knowing that many of the programs and projects currently being developed internationally are rooted in our early work and our vision of excellence.
We work from a multidisciplinary perspective, integrating science, ethics, and social commitment to improve the quality of life of people and animals. Furthermore, at the Bocalán Foundation, we train assistance dogs for children with autism and people with physical disabilities, and medical alert dogs capable of detecting low blood sugar in people with type 1 diabetes. The Bocalán Foundation continues to lead innovation and training in the sector, inspiring new generations of professionals and expanding the positive impact of AAIs worldwide.

Assistance Dogs
1. Assistance dogs for children with autism:
These dogs are specially trained to accompany and assist children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). They provide emotional support, help reduce episodes of anxiety, and promote social integration and autonomy. They also contribute to improving the child's safety during travel and in everyday situations.
2. Assistance dogs for people with physical disabilities
These dogs assist people with reduced mobility or physical disabilities, facilitating daily tasks such as opening doors, picking up objects, activating switches, or assisting with movement. Their presence increases their users' autonomy, safety, and quality of life.
3. Medical alert dogs for type 1 diabetes
These dogs are trained to detect changes in blood glucose levels in people with type 1 diabetes. They are able to alert their user, family members, or caregivers to a dangerous drop in blood sugar (hypoglycemia), enabling early intervention and preventing risky situations.
